Maria G. Mackavey is a consultant and a professor at Hellenic College. She directs the undergraduate program in Management and Leadership. She has consulted widely in colleges and universities, as well as for the US Government. Recently, she assisted faculty and administrators at Harvard University Business School and Baker Library to address issues resulting from the automation of Library and classroom services at the Business School. She has assisted the Dean and the faculty at Lesley College Undergraduate School to develop a core curriculum using learning outcomes to design and assess curriculum. At Daniel Webster College in New Hampshire, Maria worked with the dean and the faculty on how to interpret and make use of the Boyer model of teaching and scholarship in their teaching and evaluation.

Maria has published and presented widely and has co-authored a book entitled Shared Purpose: Building Stronger Families and High-Performance Companies, published by AMACOM, 1998. More recently, she has written and presented on ethics at the CUPA National Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah (October 2004), and she presented a paper on using professional competencies to guide graduate curriculum design at the University of Granada, Spain (June, 2005).
